ZONE 5 - I Am
After the meal, late Thursday night, Jesus seeks a quiet garden to pray.
His friends sleep, while he struggles with what God is asking of him.
Out of the darkness, Judas leads an armed party to arrest him.
Jesus does not try to hide – “I am Jesus” he says – to which the armed men fall back in the face of this unarmed man
When Jesus finished praying … he went into a garden ….
Judas led a group of soldiers to the garden, along with some guards from the leading priests and the Pharisees. They were carrying torches, lanterns, and weapons.
Jesus … went and asked them, “Who are you looking for?”
They answered, “Jesus from Nazareth.”
He said, “I am Jesus.”
When Jesus said, “I am Jesus,” the men moved back and fell to the ground.
